It's ok Monday, I don't hate you!

Monday has a pretty bad reputation! On the other hand, Monday is always the day for new beginnings. People await the big day with hopes that there will be big changes! I really don't mind you Monday! I It may possibly have to do with the fact that I'm still on vacation! I will let you know how I feel about Monday in two weeks...waaaah waaaah!

So, I've been trying out this new product called Shakeology. It's a meal replacement shake, but a little more than that. Some of you know about it already, but I wanted to share with those of you who haven't. I became curious about this shake through some of my friends on facebook that have been taking it and were talking about it all the time. They were posting how it was so delicious, how it gave them more energy, how it helped them lose weight, how it's all natural, how it cuts your cravings for bad things, yada, yada, yada. It all sounded so magical!! At first, I thought this can't be real and that they were just trying to get people to buy it, but then I started doing my research and became very interested. I read all these great things about it -how it had all these vitamins and minerals, how it was like eating I don't know how many cups of vegetables in one sitting, how it was better than a protein shake (like what I had been taking). I immediately thought, there is no way this can taste good. What sealed the deal was when I showed Roly (that's my husband- the expert of all things (insert a wink here)) and he said, "wow, that looks pretty good!"
Needless to say, I've been drinking it and not only does it taste good, not only have I lost weight, not only has it given me more energy, not only is it all natural, not only has it cut my cravings, but it's HEALTHY!  I love it so much that I'm actually selling it now!! I want to share the health! (get it-share the "health," instead of share the "wealth,"OK I'm such a dork!). For my "cheat meal" on Saturday I was thinking, 'I'm gonna go all out and have a burger and fries and a beer. When I looked at the menu I overlooked all the burgers and all the fried foods. I went for the grilled chicken over chipotle mashed potatoes and broccoli...oh and of course my Amberbock! Not bad for a cheat meal! (BTW, we went to this place called Cadillac Ranch in town and country and it was yuuuuuummmmmmy!!)  I'm not fitting into my skinny jeans yet, but I'll keep you posted on my Shakeology Journey or you can join me! Deja vu

I better look like that
 when I finish!
So, I began my week with a P90X workout and made the commitment to finish it! My goal is to finish the 90 day program and finally see for myself what all the rant and rave is about. You see, 10 years ago, during a 2 am infomercial, I purchased P90x, which I think was just called P90 back then. It's even on VHS my friends! I think I only did two days of it last time because it was too much work and then they just collected dust on a shelf. The difference between now and then is that back then I was looking for a quick fix to my freshman 15 and now I know "quick fixes" do not exist. The difference is that now I know you have to bust your butt to look good and stay fit. It took me many years to realize this. I think I came to the realization that there is no way around it when I started biking and getting fit with my husband. Although I had always worked out, it wasn't until I started biking and racing with him that I understood that the combination of exercise and eating healthy had to be a lifetime commitment. I got into great shape with the whole biking/adventure racing thing, but after I had Gavin and began eating healtheir than ever, got back on the bike and started running, my body transformed. It almost took a different shape. I felt and looked leaner than when I was in High School. Now, don't get me wrong, I was smaller in High School, but not leaner. Having children and getting older changes your body, so I never expect to fit into a size 4 ever again. Now, I took on this program because it allows me to work out from home. I'd much rather be on a bike, but the convenience of doing it at home while the baby naps works for me. I will continue going to my Kwando class. After my last post, where I said how awesome that Kwando class was, I looked around on Wednesday and saw none of you there! No one read that post, right? It's ok!   Yesterday, I went to a new class the same instructor from Kwando is teaching. It's a dance/cardio class. It was fun, but not half as good as that Kwando class. Anyhow, I'll keep you posted on my P90X journey! If I make it to the third day, at least I'll have done more than the first time! Wish me luck!!!
And now I leave you with another one of my fave workout songs:

When this plays, you know it's ON!!!!!
